Experiment 3---MashUp( Second Edition)

The ideas of power that reflected from this mashup include: expansion power, positive leading power, innovating and surprising power

Nine Dragons which has foisted profound changes not only upon infotech but upon many adjacent industries is now one of the world’s fastest growing paper companies. Branching into other fields, By 2008, the company could be No. 1.
Ms. Zhang says emphatically “My desire has always been to be the leader in an industry.” we simply try to take heaps of waste paper from the United States and Europe, ship it to China and recycle it into corrugated cardboard, hope that customers will love containerboards generation after generation. I feel positive about the Wastepaper business and so it follows that I feel positive about my personal life.”

Jobs says. "We think about creating new innovative products that will surprise and delight our customers. Happy and loyal customers are what give Apple its 'power.' keeps companies vital and alive. Updating meant a stronger focus on keep going in different directions, especially if you don’t really feel and believe in them, Jobs try to ‘feel’ the trends and make them work for Apple's fecundity - born of continual and artful innovation in every aspect of its business.

Experiment 3---MashUp

Apple's fecundity - born of continual and artful innovation in every aspect of its business - has foisted profound changes not only upon infotech but upon many adjacent industries, for example, at the height of his creative and promotional powers, Jobs orchestrated Apple's over-the-top entry into the cellular telephone business with the iPhone, a lozenge of glass and aluminum encasing a do-everything digital device. Jobs says. "We think about creating new innovative products that will surprise and delight our customers. Happy and loyal customers are what give Apple its 'power.'
A decade later, the company has 11 giant papermaking machines, 5,300 employees, $1 billion in annual revenue and a huge facility under construction. Reported profits last year rose a whopping 349 percent to $175 million. Nine Dragons is now one of the world’s fastest growing paper companies. By 2008, Nine Dragons could be No. 1. “My goal is to make Nine Dragons, in three to five years, the leader in containerboards,” Ms. Zhang says emphatically “My desire has always been to be the leader in an industry.”
Donatella is just as famous for her celebrity entourage and glittering parties. Even Prince Charles attends Donatella's parties for the famous and elite throughout Europe. Branching into other fields, the company has created the grand, luxurious Palazzo Versace resort on the Gold Coast of Australia. Another growing symbol of the Versace style, the world's tallest hotel, the Burj al-Arab in Dubai, boasts a broad collection of Versace furniture and beddings in its expensive and lavish rooms.

WEEK 7---MAP(correct one)

http://files.filefront.com/muran+lin+exp2+final+modelut2/;10137449;/fileinfo.html

This is the correct one!!!!

The one that i uploaded before was not the final one ( I made a mistake, beacuse the files names are similar).

Sorry about that.

WEEK 7---Detail Images

Jane's space
This one shows the lighting effect well, blue light comes from the hole in the platform, creating the sense of mystery

The lower space

Interior of platform

Hawking's space

Ramp to the space behind the vertical face

The above three images from the bottom show the using of different colours, the shapes are presented as well

WEEK 7---Final Model

Space for Jane Goodall

Huge volumn cube that located within the platform, along with two high towers form the main structures indicate the sense of mystery. because you want to know what inside and what at the top that you can't reach .

The hole open to the sky allow natural light in, also it is too high to get there, contributing to concept of mystery.
Similar shapes form a unique structure inside the huge cube, decreasing open space shows mystery, increasing usable space express evolution(similar to the meaning of small things growing). the lighting mainly depends on sun light, creating a hazy perception as light shines from the skylight high above.

Space for Stephen Hawking

Sphere roof always symbolised the universe, this shape will inspire client, correspond to the idea of the client that "I attempt to see things in terms of geometry."
Introducing natural light to inside space, that kind of narrow, but long space(the rectangular prism pipes) brings the client another source of inspiration as it explored a unique space

WEEK 7---Draft models

This is the overall view of the space behind the vertical surface,(actually the exterior is not able to be seen). however, it shows the various spatial structures, providing the client the spaces that could inspire him due to Hawking prefer to see things in terms of geometry( in my opinion it also can be understood as that shapes rather than boring equations could more meet the his preference.

only a few textures has been applied

WEEK 7---Finding Problems to Develop the Final Model

There are some problems exist in the model:

For the space outside the vertical surface

1. Some structures are conflict with the concept of mystery, for example: the stairs, they are too obviouse and direct, fail to express the concept.

2. Too many kinds of textures used, resulting visual confusion.

3. As the outside space, it is supposed to introduce natural light somehow.

Problem 1

Problem 2
For the space inside the vertical surface

1. How to set lighting is a main problem, there is a potential to incorporate natural light as well( special structures needed)

2. Space needs to be developde further, the concept of various spatial structures has not been expressed enough.

WEEK 6---Electroliquid Aggregation

"It will be exciting to feel mystery and evolution, understand the universe by exploring various spatial structures."

"There are an awful lot of scientists today who believe that before very long we shall have unraveled all the secrets of the universe. There will be no puzzles anymore. To me it'd be really, really tragic because I think one of the most exciting things is this feeling of mystery, feeling of awe, the feeling of looking at a little live thing and being amazed by it and how its emerged through these hundreds of years of evolution and there it is and it is perfect and why. "

--- Jane Goodall

"Equations are just the boring part of mathematics. I attempt to see things in terms of geometry."

--- Stephen Hawking
